Background & Artistic Foundation

Born in Anantapuramu to a family dedicated to the arts, G. Sandhya Murthy began her journey at the age of three. She received rigorous training under esteemed gurus, learning Bharatanatyam from Sri Varadaraja Ayyangar and Carnatic Vocal Music from Sri Annamalai Chettiar. This early immersion led to a lifetime of performance and preservation of ancient heritage.

Career & Leadership

In 1980, she established Sree Nruthyakala Nilayam, an institution dedicated to maintaining the ethical and devotional purity of classical dance and music amidst modern teaching trends. She holds an M.A. in Carnatic Music, blending academic depth with decades of practical expertise.

  • "Sangeetha Natya Saraswathi" by Nadaneerajana Sabha, Bangalore.
